Whorl

Location: Port St. Lucie, Florida

Description: Whorl is a roundabout work featuring a sculptural assemblage of industrial pipes that are “coped” artistically to reveal the interior of each pipe. The spiraling configuration of pipes are inspired by natural forms from the sea, such as seashells and ocean waves, as well as the tubular porosity of corals and sponges. This recalls Port St. Lucie’s connection to the sea and celebrates the city’s sense of community, dynamism, and growth.
